Oyster project for NW Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection signed an agreement to award $4.4 million to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to implement the Oyster Cultch Placement project. The project is designed to restore oyster beds in Apalachicola, Pensacola and St. Andrew bays in Northwest Florida. The award is part of the Natural Resource Damage Assessment Phase III early restoration funding as a result of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
