FPSO challenge in GoM


It’s been more than 40 years since the Shell Castellon started operation as the first floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in 1977. Since 1977, hundreds of FPSO vessels have operated worldwide, and the oil industry has reaped benefits. Despite continued international popularity, FPSOs have been few and far between in the Gulf of Mexico. There are only two.
