Navy gets nod for ferries

The Navy received approval to spend up to $35 million to buy both Austal USA-built super ferries from the U.S. Maritime Administration, according to published reports. The Huakai and Alakia, both built in Mobile, Ala., will be transferred to the Navy if the bill is signed by the president.
