Canal to modify reservation system

On Oct. 1, the Panama Canal will implement changes in Transit Reservation (booking) System for Neo-Panamax vessels for new Neo-Panamax locks, which includes a restructuring of payment fees for the liquefied natural gas segment (LNG), in order to optimize the use of the inter-oceanic route. A Panama Canal Administration (ACP) media release indicated that the modifications "are a positive step for the neopanamax locks", and take into account the lifting of certain rules of navigation to LNG ships, as well as comments from customers.
