Donald to take lead of HII board

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced Feb. 26 that retired Adm. Thomas B. Fargo, chairman of the board of directors, will retire from the HII board after the next annual meeting of shareholders on April 28. Given Fargo’s decision, the board of directors elected retired Adm. Kirkland H. Donald as the new chairman effective April 28. Donald graduated from the Naval Academy in 1975 and served 37 years in the Navy, retiring as director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. He previously served as commander, Naval Submarine Forces. After retiring from the Navy, he joined Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. and served as chief operating officer and then as CEO. Donald serves on the board of directors of New Orleans-based HQ of the Entergy Corp., and as chair of its nuclear committee.
