LDWF open house at hatchery

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is hosting a public open house at Booker Fowler Fish Hatchery in Forest Hill on March 28 from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a 30-to- 45 minute tour, which will explain the process of producing Florida largemouth bass. Visitors will learn about spawning, view largemouth bass, including fry, fingerlings and adults. The visit is to the state’s premier hatchery, and get a glimpse of work that LDWF does to provide high-quality fishing experiences and to ensure Louisiana remains a Sportsman’s Paradise. Hatchery operations are made possible with funding from the federal Sport Fish Restoration Program. For questions about the open house call (318) 748-6914.
