Cutter heading to new NASP homeport

The Coast Guard cutter Reliance departed Portsmouth (Maine) Naval Shipyard in Kittery on June 6 heading for its new homeport at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Fla. After 32 years in Maine, Reliance will continue service with two other medium endurance cutters homeported at NASP, allowing the CG to better leverage efficiencies gained by clustering vessels of the same class. Reliance has shifted homeports several times since its commissioning in mid-1964.
