Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division in Pascagoula, Miss., has received a $97M fixed-price advance procurement contract from the Coast Guard to purchase long-lead materials for an 11th National Security Cutter (NSC). The funds will be used to purchase major components for NSC 11. HII-Pascagoula has delivered seven NSCs, the flagship of the CG’s cutter fleet, which are designed to replace the 12 Hamilton-class high-endurance cutters that entered service in the 1960s.
