Coast Guard medevacs

HOUSTON/NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medically-evacuated a 54-year-old male passenger from the fishing vessel Sea Horse about eight miles off-shore from Cameron, La., on the morning of Aug. 12. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received the request and consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac. CG Station Lake Charles (La.) response boat and crew was launched to the scene and transported the mariner to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at the Calcasieu River ferry dock. On Saturday, Aug. 10, a CG MH-65 Dolphin helicopter hoisted a male from a disabled recreational vessel in Otter Bayou, about 20 miles southeast of Hopedale, La.
