Women of Color STEM awards to HII
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Fifteen workers from each of Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) three divisions were recognized for their achievements in science, technology, engineering and math during the 24th annual Women of Color STEM Conference held Oct. 3-5 in Detroit. Four of the eight employees to receive Technology All-Star awards were from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Miss. The award recognizes accomplished women of color from mid-level to advanced stages of their careers who have demonstrated excellence in the workplace and in their communities. HII-Pascagoula recipients were Ruth Eurystthee, configuration analyst; Carol Hawkins, procurement analyst; Sarah Smith, production scheduler; and Lisa Washington, project management. Two of seven employees to receive Technology Rising Star awards, which recognize women who are helping to shape future technology, were Jendry Perez, industrial engineer; and Sokhan Todd, inspector. HII is America’s largest military shipbuilding company and a provider of professional services to partners in government and industry.
