Austal delivers JHSV

MOBILE, Ala. -- Austal USA and its partners delivered the joint high-speed vessel USNS Spearhead to the U.S. Navy in a signing ceremony Wednesday. The 338-foot-long aluminum catamaran, which Austal began building in December 2009, completed acceptance trials in August and will leave Mobile toward the end of this month and enter service in 2013.
