Alliance exec at Gulfport event

The Gulfport (Miss.) Chamber of Commerce will host a Gulfport Connections breakfast featuring Gulf of Mexico Alliance Executive Director Laura Bowie at 8 a.m. on July 18 at the Courtyard by Marriott Gulfport Beachfront Hotel. Bowie will provide an update on the upcoming “Embrace the Gulf” campaign that is being designed to educate and raise awareness on the value and positive contributions of the Gulf of Mexico. The Alliance, a five-state collaborative organization, has been working for more than a year on developing the campaign, which will be implemented throughout 2020 – the year to “Embrace the Gulf”. The Gulf of Mexico provides food, security, energy, habitat, recreation, transportation, navigation, and it also plays an important role in communities, states, region, and the nation, says Gulfport CoC Director Tracy Yanez.
