Map changes for hurricane season

The National Hurricane Center is making key changes to its visual explanations of hurricane risks this year with a new map better outlining the threat of storm surges, and a time interval for basic hurricane forecast maps. Both changes are aimed at quickly explaining hurricane risks and evacuation decisions for the 2020 hurricane season (June 1-Nov. 30).
