New CG commander in Panama City

NEW ORLEANS – Master Chief Petty Officer Mark Kannan relieved Chief Warrant Officer Phillip Hutchison as commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Panama City, Fla., during a change-of-command ceremony July 13. Kannan comes to Panama City from CG Station Oak Island, N.C., where he served as officer in charge. CG Station Panama City manages search and rescue, ports, waterways and coastal security, as well as federal law enforcement from Powell Lake to the St. Petersburg boundary.
