CG medevacs stabbed crewmen
NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced two crewmembers that were reportedly stabbed aboard the vessel ‘Billy B’ about 40 miles south of Pensacola, Fla., on Aug. 20. The crewmen were reportedly stabbed by a third crewmember aboard the commercial fishing vessel, according to the CG, which launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 helicopter aircrew and the Cutter Kingfisher, and a Coast Guard Station Pensacola response boat with enforcement personnel aboard. The Kingfisher arrived on scene at 8:46 p.m. and brought the two crewmembers aboard. The helicopter hoisted the men and transferred them to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. One crewman was reported to be in stable condition. The other was reported to be in critical condition. The CG detained the third crewman and took the Billy B in tow to Perdido Pass, Ala.
