CG delivers teen to hospital

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard responded to a distress call from three males aboard an overturned vessel in the vicinity of Little Lake near Galliano, La., on Feb. 16. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department at 7:45 p.m. about an overturned vessel and redirected an MH-65 helicopter aircrew for search and rescue. The aircrew arrived on scene at 8:25 p.m. One of the males, a 13-year-old boy, was reported to have sustained injury and was transported to Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Cut Off, La., at 9:06 p.m. The helicopter returned to the scene and brought the two other males to the hospital at 10:02 p.m. The 13-year-old’s condition was not currently known.
