CG cutter crew rescues man in water
NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued an 89-year-old man from a vehicle that went into the water Dec. 30 at the St. Andrews Marina in Panama City, Fla. Crew from the Coast Guard Cutter Marlin observed the a car go into the water around 12:45 p.m. A CG boat crew from the cutter went to assist and had to break a car window to remove the man. The crew transferred the man to shore to an awaiting emergency medical services crew in stable condition. “This is a perfect example of the training we put into our job," said Master Chief Petty Officer Glenn Bucklin, officer in charge of the Marlin.
