National sea grant fellowships
The Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium is looking for applicants for the 2019 National Sea Grant College Program’s Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship. The fellowship is funded through the National Sea Grant Office and administered by state Sea Grant programs. Knauss Fellows spend a year in marine policy-related positions in the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. government in Washington D.C. Past fellows have worked in the offices of U.S. congress members, congressional subcommittees, and at the National Science Foundation and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Fellowships run from Feb. 1, 2019, to Jan. 31, 2020. Eligible students must be enrolled in a graduate program during the spring semester of 2018. Applications are due at the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium office Feb. 23. For information about the Knauss program, visit the National Sea Grant website.
