‘FoFo’ on the go-go to Jackson

Biloxi, Miss., Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich laid out his plans Jan. 2 to the city council for a “genuine waterfront experience” for Point Cadet in East Biloxi that includes an oyster aquaculture center, oyster dock, pavilion for hosting deep-sea fishing tournaments, and a seafood marketplace. The council agreed on a 6-1 vote to request that the Legislature approve the proposed plan and allow the city to use bonds and property rental payments to aid construction of those facilities. Gilich will head to the 2018 Gulf Coast Legislative Reception in Jackson on Jan. 10 with a signed resolution in hand. (Source: Sun Herald 01/04/18) The reception provides a forum for community and business leaders to share issues critical to the Mississippi Gulf Coast face-to-face with legislators, public officials, and opinion leaders.
