Barge grain movements totaled 501,809 tons for the week ending Sept. 21, which was a 32 percent decrease from the previous week and 25 percent less than the same period last year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture said. During that same time period, 327 grain barges moved down the Mississippi River, 146 fewer than the previous week.
