Update: Missing man found
NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard and partner agencies are searching for an overdue male near Dauphin Island, Ala., in the afternoon of June 12. Missing is Brian Duff, a white adult male with an orange life jacket. The child with him, and who was reported missing initially, has been located and is in stable condition. The personal watercraft is a red and white Yamaha. Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Ala., received notification around 2:50 p.m. from a family member, when Duff did not return as planned. The family reported that the duo left Tonty Court in Dauphin Island aboard the personal watercraft at noon. They were last seen heading into the Gulf of Mexico toward an offshore platform at 12:45 p.m. An Urgent Marine Information Broadcast was issued. Involved in the search are: a CG Station Dauphin Island 45-foot Response boat and crew; CG Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144 aircrew; an ATC Mobile MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew; CG Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew; Alabama Marine Resources; South Alabama Rescue Search and Recovery; and the Mobile Reserve Corps. (Source: Coast Guard 06/12/20) UPDATE: CG Sector Mobile received a report at 8:19 p.m. that a good Samaritan HAD found Brian Duff three miles south of Pelican Island in Alabama waters. Duff met his family at CG Station Dauphin Island and was reported in stable condition. (Coast Guard 06/12/20)
