Body of missing boater found in lake

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard ended a search for a person in the water on Lake Pontchartrain near Lakefront Airport in New Orleans on April 9. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report around 7:30 a.m. of a capsized vessel with two adult passengers onboard near Lakefront Airport. The male passenger made it to shore. The other adult, a female passenger, was missing at that time. At 10 a.m., a body matching the description of female passenger was recovered from the lake by a CG Station New Orleans 29-foot Response Boat and crew. The body was transferred to the New Orleans Police Department. EMS transported the surviving passenger to Ochsner Medical Center with minimal injuries. (Source: Coast Guard 04/09/20)
