Robot navigation techniques for UUVs

Jackie Jermyn’s research on mobile robot navigation has earned the Panama City, Fla., native a SMART Scholarship from the Defense Department. The Florida State University engineering graduate student will be working with her college Ph.D. adviser, Rodney Roberts, on applications of simultaneous localization and mapping techniques for the navigation of unmanned underwater vehicles to support activities at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Panama City.
