Update: Search ends for rec diver

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard is searching for a person in the water near the Hathaway Bridge in Panama City, Fla., in the afternoon of April 11. Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Ala., received a report at 3 p.m. that a vessel had driven through an area where four recreational divers had been swimming near the bridge. One diver was struck by the vessel and transported to Bay Medical Center with serious injuries. One diver who did not resurface is presumed to have been struck as well. The other two divers were reportedly not injured. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact CG Sector Mobile's command center at (251) 441-5976. (Source: Coast Guard 04/12/20) UPDATE: The CG ended its search for a missing diver near Hathaway Bridge in Panama City on Sunday. The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission advised the CG at 9:30 a.m. that a body had been recovered matching the description of the missing diver. The identity was later confirmed. The CG searched about 140 square nautical miles for around 22 hours.
